VINS HODGSON, LDNM 2023

The first release from their relatively new vineyard on the volcanic hillside of Montbenault, (the 2022 will be released at a later date). It's a blend of 50 year old terraced vines & 30 year old vines on a lower slope near the Layon river. After harvesting the wine was pressed slowly then aged in a mix of foudre and small barrels including some new barrels. We rested this wine on arrival for a year and now believe it is starting to blossom, with an beautiful intensity of fruit balanced with acidity and incredible length. Though enjoyable now, no doubt it will age quite wonderfully.
