PICKS OF THE YEAR!
Picks of the year!
Six of our favourite wines we tasted this year in one handy pack.
Domaine Bories Jefferies, La Pierre De Sisyphe 2021
The white wine that has been called a 'Grand Cru of the Herault' and in 2021 Joe produced a sublime vintage, with a beautiful balance of bolshy fruit, texture and minerality. Unique and delicious.
Vins Hodgson Faia 2019
100% Chenin from a mix of parcels around the village of Rablay-Sur-Layon in Anjou. From the dry, warm vintage of 2019, this is a wine that has taken a while to come around but is now starting to show it's potential beautifully, with ripe fruit balance by brilliant acidity and a finish that goes on for a long time.
La Lunotte, Rossignoux 1 2022
A late entrant, but this is a totally classic vintage of Christophe's Sauvignon. Balancing ripe fruit with a subtle but very present oxidative element. Shimmering with minerals and fruit this is exceptional.
Francois Saint-lo, Unis De Bois Guyon 2022
100% Pineau d'aunis from a parcel that sits next to the Cabernet in his Bois Guyon parcel. This has a wonderful balance of peppery fruit, with a gorgeous texture and long finish.
Raphael Beysang & Emelie Hurtubise Ernest 2022/23 Litre
100% Gamay from a blend of their parcels in south Beaujolais. Generally given around two weeks maceration. They blended barrels from two vintages to make a balance between the warm 2022 and the cooler 2023. Bursting with bright red fruit, a silky texture and surprising length, this is vibrant and energetic one of the best wines they have released.
Domaine La Cotelette, Les Trognes De Pinot 2023
100% Pinot Noir from Benoit's oldest vines given around 12 days maceration. This is already singing, with beautiful dark red fruit, incredible length yes the most soft silky texture.
