80 year old Gamay d'Auvergne vines planted on basalt on the slopes above Saint-Georges-sur-Allier. This is macerated slightly longer than previous vintages, and then aged in a mix of amphorae and old barrels. Round, plummy fruit give way to brambly, salty brightness. An example of why the wines from this estate have become so sought after and why the estate wines they make are worth the hype.
