MAUD ROCHETTE, P.S. TENDRESSE 2021

We are delighted to procure a tiny amount of this delicious Gamay from Maud Rochette, who works from Raphael & Emelie's cellar in the south of Beaujolais. This Gamay comes from 40 year old vines planted on clay and limestone on an eastern exposure, it was macerated whole bunch for ten days, aged in clay jars from October 2021 until May 2022 and is just released now. No additions were made. Like Raphael's Noah wine, this developed a flor on the wine, but is not oxidative, but seemed to give the wine more minerality, lovely depth of fruit with a lick of volatile acidity which lifts the wine rather than detracts from it.
