An exciting new project in Anjou, two brothers who discovered the world of wine through their Alsatian uncle and aunt in the mid-2010s (Hélène and Jean-François Ginglinger). After working several harvest seasons and spending time in the vineyards, they decided to leave our respective careers to create their own estate. After completing a one-year degree in viticulture and oenology (BTSA) and working with several winemakers in Anjou (Thomas with Adrien de Mello and Jean-Noël Bellard; Pierre with Jacques Février and Martial Angeli) they acquired 4.5 hectares of vines in 2024.
All the parcels are located in the same area, on shallow silty soils (green schist on the upper slopes, purple schist at the bottom, with bands of phtanite scattered across the different plots). Each cuvée—except for Grolleau Noir and Cabernet Franc—takes its name from the parcel where the grapes are grown:
Les Felons - a blend of 90% Grolleau Noir (0.5 hectare) and 10% Cabernet Franc (0.07 hectare). Each variety was vinified separately, macerated for ten days with punch-downs at the beginning of fermentation and a few pump-overs, before being blended at the end of fermentation. It's rare to have a Grolleau with this amount of finesse and elegance, all pretty fruit, white pepper and minerals. A special debut!
