LA LUNOTTE, FLOU 2018-2019

Christophe Foucher is simply one of the great unsung natural winemakers of France. This is 100% Cabernet Franc made in a fashion that exemplifies his artisanal approach. He destems all the fruit, and puts it into an old upturned barrel which he takes the top off, to fill, then seals again. He gives the grapes a long maceration (months) in this barrel before eventually pressing off into another barrel. 

As he does not have a lot of Cabernet, he decided to blend the 2018 + 2019 vintages, both made the same way. It is wonderfully deep with silky tannins, lush dark fruit and a wild elegance, drinking well, but will age wonderfully, if you can bare to hold on to it.
