JULIEN PINEAU, MONKEY GONE TO HEAVEN 2021

In the disastrous vintage of 2021, Julien lost 90% of the fruit to a mixture of mildew, frost, & hail (hailed in August!) He therefore had to buy fruit to survive - he went to the south, Provence where he had once worked. The wines are very delicious as usual.

100% Cinsault from domaine de la Providence, Lambesc, Bouche du Rhone, (south east), organic grapes. Julien rented a bus to go with harvesters to Provence to pick beautifull Cinsault. He gave the grapes a one week carbonic maceration, before pressing off and ageing in Inox.
