DOMAINE LA COTELETTE, TROGNES DE PINOT 2024

In this almost forgotten part of Burgundy, en route to the Jura, Benoît Kilian farms the historic vineyard of Domaine La Cotelette. Working with 2.5 hectares, it’s an estate that dates back to 1919 when previous owner Guy Bussiere’s grandfather first planted vines here. Historically there were vines everywhere but now Benoit is very isolated, producing energetic, esoteric and above all delicious wines from beautiful vineyards. 

As a former natural wine distributor he has a deep knowledge of the wines and this is reflected in his approach, free and open wines that speak of the soils they come from and a burgundy that used to be. 

The Trognes De Pinot comes from his oldest vines of Pinot Noir, given a gentle 12 day maceration in whole bunches before ageing in barrel. In this cooler vintage the wine has deep aromatics and fruit but is very bring and on the fruit. As always with this wine, you will be well rewarded if you can cellar it.
