DOMAINE LA COTELETTE, LA RIPOPEE 2024

In this almost forgotten part of Burgundy, en route to the Jura, Benoît Kilian farms the historic vineyard of Domaine La Cotelette. Working with 2.5 hectares, it’s an estate that dates back to 1919 when previous owner Guy Bussiere’s grandfather first planted vines here. Historically there were vines everywhere but now Benoit is very isolated, producing energetic, esoteric and above all delicious wines from beautiful vineyards. 

As a former natural wine distributor he has a deep knowledge of the wines and this is reflected in his approach, free and open wines that speak of the soils they come from and a burgundy that used to be. 

Always a blend of red and white grapes in 2024 Ripopee is (1/3 Gamay 1/3 Chardonnay in whole bunches, macerated in 1/3 Chardonnay for 12 days). Floral and juicy with very little tannin this is so bright and beautiful great for spring.
