DOMAINE LA COTELETTE, GAMEEEZ 2024

In this almost forgotten part of Burgundy, en route to the Jura, Benoît Killian farms the historic vineyard of Domaine La Cotelette. Working with 2.5 hectares, it’s an estate that dates back to 1919 when previous owner Guy Bussiere’s grandfather first planted vines here. Historically there were vines everywhere but now Benoit is very isolated, producing energetic, esoteric and above all delicious wines from beautiful vineyards. 

As a former natural wine distributor he has a deep knowledge of the wines and this is reflected in his approach, free and open wines that speak of the soils they come from and a burgundy that used to be. 

Gameeez is 100% Gamay, the first time in years he has made this cuvée as a red wine. Given 9 days of maceration and then aged in barrel it’s bright, fruity and angular a really direct and delicious expression of the grape.
